We absolutely loved our stay at Sunset Lodge! the breakfast bar was a delightful touch and the spa pool was simply amazing. the quiet area and lovely views were just perfect for relaxation. If you're a fan of sunsets, you'll be blown away by the ones from the decking. Definitely one of the best places we've ever stayed at.

We had a fantastic time at this B&B with stunning views from the large deck. The spacious rooms were well-appointed and the continental breakfast offered a wide variety of choices. We loved relaxing in the sitting room or playing pool in the entertainment room. The host, Richard, was friendly and helpful, providing us with specific directions. The location was conveniently close to the city center, making it easy to explore. The beautiful gardens added a touch of magic to our stay.
We had a bit of trouble with bugs/spiders in our bed, which made for an uncomfortable night.

I definitely got my money's worth staying at Sunset Lodge. The room was amazing, with beautiful views and a super comfy bed. The location was great, just a short drive away from town. Richard, the host, was charming and gave us all the privacy we needed.
Food for breakfast was good, but it could be improved with a bit more variety.

Loved the beautiful and quiet location with stunning views of the valley and Tasman Sea. Meeting other friendly guests was a bonus. The host was welcoming and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The lodge itself was open and spacious with great outdoor spaces, including a hot tub on the deck. We also enjoyed the pool table and darts for some indoor fun.
The distance from town was a bit of a hassle, as a car was necessary to reach the center. The biggest disappointment was the lack of options for a cooked breakfast.

The property was spotless, both inside and out. The rooms were clean, tidy, and had a great family layout. We loved the beautiful grounds surrounding the house, with plenty of trees and plants to create a relaxing atmosphere. We also enjoyed the outdoor deck, which provided stunning views and a perfect spot to soak up the sun. Additionally, the spa pool was a fantastic addition and a great way to unwind after a long day.
The hotel is a bit far from the coast, requiring a drive of about 3 miles to reach the town. This meant we had to plan our activities and meals more carefully.

What a beautiful place to stay! We wish we could have stayed at Hokitika Sunset Lodge for longer. The gardens are well-kept, and we even enjoyed meeting the chickens and sheep during our walk. With the lodge all to ourselves, we took full advantage of the entertainment room and spa located at the back. Richard, our welcoming host, accommodated our request for gluten-free bread. The outlook from the property is breathtaking, with views of the ocean and mountains in the distance. Our room had a lovely view, and the spacious and clean bathroom included a refrigerator. The generous breakfast and espresso coffee machine were a great way to start the day.
Can recommend this hotel.

We really got great value for our money at Sunset Lodge. The room was lovely, clean, and nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. The location was perfect, with beautiful views overlooking the ocean and mountains in the distance. The staff, especially our host Richard, were incredibly helpful, friendly, and accommodating throughout our stay. Definitely recommended!
The breakfast could have been better if the fruit selection was refreshed daily. Unfortunately, on the second morning, we only had tired apples for breakfast fruit.
